A huge shout out to all the EHOs working extremely hard and doing great work for our communities during this crisis. I have had some amazing feedback from people about the powerful and moving poem about EHOs by Samantha Crowe at Greater Shepparton City Council. I haven’t seen anything that quite sums up as well exactly what we do and the important role we play in managing the public health risks through the Coronavirus pandemic. Amazingly the poem has reached 26,823 people on Facebook with 5075 people reacting to the post. Well done Samantha and thank you for sharing with everyone.
The Board is utilising our new Redback video conferencing software which has been great for staying connected. It was great to see a number of SIG and COP convenors participate in a recent video conferencing training session run by Bernadet. Please continue to schedule your SIG and COP meetings utilising our software. You may want to consider shorter and more regular meetings as I have noticed it can be challenging to sit in front of your screen for long periods of time. Don’t hesitate to contact Bernadet if you need any tips or guidance.
Finally, I would to give a shout out to my team at Surf Coast Shire who have been doing some amazing work protecting the community by providing support and advice to a number of businesses finding it very tough at the moment. Only this week the team developed a guideline for supermarkets to help manage risks from Coronavirus with input from some major supermarket chains.
It’s with pleasure that we can share this Guideline with EHPA and the membership which aims to assist and support EHOs and businesses. The requirements are not intended to be enforceable but provide guidance to help manage the social distancing and hygiene measures in place to manage Coronavirus.
Stay connected with each other and stay safe.
EHPA Supermarket Minimum Standard Guidelines
You can download a copy of the Supermarket Minimum Standard Guidelines, here. We hope you find this document to be useful during this time. Our thanks go to the team and Surf Coast for writing this document and allowing it to be shared with all EHPA members.
That’s it for now
